WHERE OUR GOALS ARE: To sponsor and promote the health and well being of llamas; To promote interest in and knowledge of llamas with special programs and the sponsoring of llama shows; To cultivate friendship among and promote the interest of the owners and breeders of llamas; To encourage breeding toward the ALSA Standards and encourage the registration of llamas with the ILR; To promote and encourage kindness to llamas in need in the prevention of cruelty and maltreatment of llamas; and To encourage the altering of llamas not specifically being used as part of a responsible breeding program. LANA was founded during the spring of 1981 by a group of llama owners and breeders interested in the exchange of information,  expanding the existing markets by educating the public, national group advertising, and just having fun with their llamas.
