You do <B>not</B> need to be a member of LANA in order to participate. All work submitted must be original work of the youth.         </div> <bR> <div> The essay should follow this year's Expo theme: "Llama Fiesta".</div> <div>      </div> <div> Age categories are as follows:</div> <bR> <div>                             Category 1 -  Youth age 8-13                    </div> <div>                             Category 2 - Youth age 14-18</div> <bR> <div> Gold, silver and bronze medal winners will be selected from each age category and each will receive an Expo Youth program scholarship in addition to their medal. They will be recognized at Expo and/or published in the LANA newsletter.</div> <div>      </div> <div> 1. Essays must be a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 1000 words.</div> <bR> <div> 2. Essays will be judged on originality, general style, grammar and punctuation.</div> <div>          </div> <div> 3. All entries shall be accompanied by a note from parent or guardian verifying the work to be that of the entrant.</div> <div>          </div> <div> 4. All entries shall be neatly printed in ink, typewritten, or computer typed using double-spacing on standard 8 1/2  x 11 paper and be clearly legible.</div> <div>          </div> <div> 5. Essays shall be headed with the following information on each page:</div> <bR> <div>                 a. Age category</div> <bR> <div>                 b. Entrant's name, address, age, and phone number (including area code)</div> <div>          </div> <div> 6. All essays must have been completed within the last 12 months.</div> <div>          </div> <div> 7. Entries will be returned only if accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope.</div> <div>          </div> <div> 8.
